collaborative staging (CS)

Description

A system used to describe the extent of cancer in the body (the stage) at the time of diagnosis.

Collaborative staging combines elements of TNM staging system, EOD coding system and summary staging (SS). It describes tumour size, extent of cancer in the body, if the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, if the cancer has spread to distant parts of the body (metastasis) and other relevant information based on the specific type of cancer.
