Penile cancer often causes signs and symptoms in its early stage. Other health conditions can cause the same signs and symptoms as penile cancer.
The signs and symptoms of penile cancer include:
- a growth, lump or open sore (ulcer) on the penis that may be painful or bleed
- some discolouration on the penis
- a foul-smelling discharge or bleeding from the penis, including from under the foreskin
- itching or irritation of the penis
- a thickened and tightened foreskin that is more difficult to pull back (retract) than usual
- an unexplained pain in the shaft or the head of the penis (glans)
