Neuroendocrine tumour (NET) statistics
In Canada, specific cancer statistics are not reported for neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). They are most often included with the statistics based on where the tumour started.
- Gastrointestinal (GI) NETs are included in the statistics for GI cancers, such as the small intestine, colon or rectum, or stomach.
- Lung NETs are included with statistics for lung cancer.
- Pancreatic NETs are included with pancreatic cancer statistics.
- Some NETs are included in the general category of other endocrine cancers.
Because NETs can be reported with many different cancers, it is hard to provide accurate Canadian statistics.
