For over 100 years, Odlum Brown have guided their clients through their financial journeys, but their commitment to community has been one of their top investments.
As long-standing partners of the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), they have supported a range of initiatives, from CCS lodges in British Columbia to the transformative Camp Goodtimes Breaking Borders program. For Odlum Brown, giving back to the communities they live and work in is woven into the company’s fabric.
“Odlum Brown’s sense of community has been deeply ingrained in our culture and an integral part of our identity since our inception,” said Trevor Short, President and CEO of Odlum Brown. “Supporting CCS is an investment in the long-term health and resilience of our communities. Cancer touches nearly every family, and the toll is not only emotional but also economic. CCS alleviates this financial burden.”
This commitment to building a better future is at the heart of Odlum Brown’s championing of Breaking Borders – an outdoor adventure program to equip young adults who have experienced cancer with important life skills to help them transition into the world of work and higher education.
“Supporting the Breaking Borders program allows us to ensure that young adults are not overlooked during this pivotal stage in their healing journey,” Short said. “Camp Goodtimes programs help forge meaningful connections through shared experiences and lifelong memories.”
Odlum Brown's impact goes beyond financial contributions. Their team members across British Columbia have been active volunteers for many years, including annual participation in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. Their Vancouver team has even won the Corporate Spirit Award 15 times!
“Through active volunteerism, we extend our commitment beyond our financial support and offer our team members meaningful ways to apply their skills and energy to strengthen our communities,” Short said.
Odlum Brown is a company of forward-thinkers, and together, we are advancing CCS’s mission: creating a brighter future for people facing cancer across Canada.
“Our hope is that our support helps fund life-saving research, prevention programs and patient support services that can directly improve the quality of life today and create the possibility of a cancer-free tomorrow.”
