x-linked lymphoproliferative disease (XLP)


An inherited condition that affects the immune system so it has an abnormal response to an Epstein-Barr virus infection. This response can cause damage to the bone marrow, liver, spleen, heart and kidney. It is more common in males. XLP increases the risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
