A surgical procedure to remove all or part of a kidney.
Partial nephrectomy removes part of one kidney or a tumour from a kidney. Simple nephrectomy removes an entire kidney. Radical nephrectomy removes an entire kidney, nearby adrenal gland and lymph nodes and other surrounding tissues. Bilateral nephrectomy removes both kidneys.
