leukoencephalopathy

Any of a group of diseases that affect the white matter in the brain, especially in the cerebral hemispheres. White matter carries information between the neurons (nerve cells) in the brain and spinal cord.

Leukoencephalopathy is a common side effect in children who receive radiation therapy or chemotherapy.
