A disease where blood sugar (or glucose) levels are too high. The pancreas makes a hormone called insulin, which helps get glucose from food into the cells to be used for energy. When the body doesn’t make enough insulin, or can’t use insulin, the glucose stays in the blood.
Diabetes increases the risk of uterine, liver, pancreatic, gallbladder and bile duct cancers.
