A lab test that checks the number and quality of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets in a blood sample. CBC also measures the amount of hemoglobin (a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen and gives blood its red colour) and percentage of red blood cells (hematocrit) in the blood sample.
