cancer antigen 125 (CA125)

Description

A protein that may be found in high amounts in the blood of people with certain types of cancer, particularly ovarian cancer.

CA125 can be used as a tumour marker. It is used to monitor a person’s response to treatment or to see if ovarian cancer has come back (recurred) after treatment.

Also called carbohydrate antigen 125.
