Description

Treatment with natural or manufactured substances that change the way cells behave. Biological therapies may cause specific cells to stop growing, block the release of hormones or strengthen the body’s immune system.

Biological therapies are used to fight cancer or lessen the side effects associated with some cancer treatments.

Also called biotherapy or biological response modifiers (BRMs).
