The BETTER For All program is an integrated, personalized model of care with the goal of reducing the risk of cancer and chronic diseases in the GTA through access to Prevention Practitioners and Peer Health Coaches.   

Take charge of your health with BETTER For All

Making healthy lifestyle changes isn’t always easy—especially on your own. That’s why the Canadian Cancer Society, in partnership with Women’s College Hospital and Access Alliance, created BETTER For All: a free program designed to support racialized communities and newcomers to Canada in reducing the risk of chronic diseases, including cancer.

This program is designed for individuals aged 40–69 who want to take steps toward better health. With BETTER For All, you’ll get:

  • Personalized medical advice to help prevent chronic diseases.
  • One-on-one support from a Peer Health Coach for up to six months, all from the comfort of your home.

Our Peer Health Coaches are specially trained to support you in your health journey.

Whether it’s getting active, quitting smoking, or keeping up with regular health screenings, they’re here to help you succeed.

Match with a Peer Health Coach who understands you. Get support from a Peer Health Coach with shared language, gender, age, location, or life experiences.

Stay connected on your schedule. Weekly check-ins for up to 10 weeks and ongoing support for up to six months via phone, video, or text—whatever works best for you.

Due to a high volume of applicants, we have paused accepting new applications for Peer Health Coach volunteers at this time. However, we may reopen applications in the coming months. In the meantime, we encourage you to explore our volunteer portal for other opportunities that may align with your interests.

The program is offered through the Mid-West Toronto Ontario Health Team, and is made possible through joint funding from the Canadian Cancer Society, Women’s College Hospital Foundation and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
