Our executive leadership team
Andrea Seale
Andrea Seale is the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). With more than 20 years of non-profit leadership experience, Andrea is dedicated to empowering people to build the causes that make our world more compassionate, healthy and just.
Prior to joining CCS, Andrea was head of the David Suzuki Foundation and held leadership roles with Ecojustice and The Banff Centre for the Arts. She founded Blueprint Fundraising and Communications, specializing in building the capacity of non-profit organizations in Canada and the U.S. She sits on the board of the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer and was named Outstanding Professional Fundraiser for 2022 by AFP Vancouver. Andrea holds a Diploma in Public Relations from Mount Royal University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from McGill University.
Dr Stuart Edmonds
Prior to the amalgamation, Stuart spent 8 years at PCC as Vice President of Research, Health Promotion and Survivorship. He has held leadership roles at several national cancer research institutes and government agencies. Stuart holds a Doctorate in pharmacology from Oxford University.
Dr Sandra Krueckl
Sandra is the Executive Vice President, Mission, Information and Support Services at the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). In this role, she leads a nationwide team of staff and volunteers focused on delivering a support system to help Canadians prevent cancer and better manage life with cancer, find community and connection and build wellness and resilience.
Sandra joined CCS in 2005 and has held several positions with the organization, including her previous role of Vice President, Cancer Control.
Prior to CCS, her training and work experience was in the cancer research field. She holds a PhD in Molecular Endocrinology from the University of Victoria and has completed post-doctoral training at the Prostate Centre in Vancouver.
Pamela Mollica
Sara Oates
Prior to CCS, Sara held leadership roles at international not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and History from the University of Leeds and has earned her Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA, CA) and Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA UK) designations.
Lesa O'Brien
Lesa O’Brien is Chief Information and Technology Officer. She leads teams responsible for enterprise-wide digital, data and technology strategies and solutions across the organization to drive CCS's digital transformation. Lesa's portfolio includes Digital Marketing and Solutions, Digital and Technology Operations, Data, Analytics and Solutions and Information Technology.
Lesa joined CCS as Director, Digital Marketing and Engagement in 2017 following the merger with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF). She was promoted to Vice President, Digital Marketing and Solutions in 2018 and then to Executive Vice President, Digital Strategy and Technology in 2023.
Prior to CCS, Lesa spent 18 years leading digital teams to drive digital transformation in the healthcare, and not-for-profit sectors. She holds a Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Guelph.
Jane Parsons
Jane is the Chief Development and Engagement Officer. In this role, she leads a nationwide team of relationship-based fundraisers and marketing and communications professionals. Together, the team aims to inspire and mobilize Canadians by amplifying voices and stories that drive engagement and funds, advancing the impact of CCS’s mission. Jane's portfolio includes Leadership Giving, Mass Marketing, Engagement and Insights, Signature Programs, Partnerships, Marketing, Digital Engagement and Content Development, and Communications.
Jane joined CCS in 2017 as Regional Executive Director, Atlantic Canada following CCS’s merger with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF). She was promoted to Executive Vice President, Revenue Development in 2020, and assumed her current role in 2026.
Prior to her career in the not-for-profit sector, Jane worked in the cable television industry. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Acadia University.
