Helping you stay on track with virtual cancer care

Virtual care has become an essential part of cancer care in Canada.

Connecting virtually with healthcare teams by phone, video call, and secure messaging can be helpful to improve access and continuity of care, discuss treatment plans, monitor side effects, and get support while reducing barriers like travel, time and cost.

But not everyone has the tools and support they need to use virtual care effectively.

That’s why the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) created a new Virtual Care Resource Hub with useful tips, tools and best practices to help you get the most out of your virtual care appointments.

A person takes notes during a video call with their healthcare provider. Two pill bottles are on the table next to them.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, having treatment, or supporting someone living with cancer these tools and tips are designed to support you before, during and after your virtual cancer care appointments.

Now, in one convenient place, you’ll find practical tips and resources such as:

These resources were co-designed with people living with cancer, caregivers and healthcare providers to help improve the virtual cancer care experience for people in Canada.

"I think this is going to help people to be really prepared in order to have a very effective virtual encounter. And this is really going to improve the way they utilize the virtual care technologies," says CCS-funded researcher Dr Paul Wankah.

Throughout your cancer journey, CCS is here when you need it. Find out how we can help answer your questions and provide compassionate support.
