Together, we’re creating a future without cancer

To save and improve lives today and tomorrow, the work you help fund is focused on three priorities.

Increase cancer survival

Thanks to research and early detection, today, 64% of Canadians will survive at least 5 years after their cancer diagnosis. But we have more work to do. Together, we’ll keep pushing the boundaries of science and make more life-saving discoveries.

I support the Canadian Cancer Society because they focus on all areas of the cancer journey. I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for cancer research and the donors who make it possible.

Your donation helps turn bold ideas into breakthroughs

What if there was a vaccine for breast cancer? What if you could find lung cancer with a simple breath test? Or find bladder cancer with a urine test? Imagine if we could stop colon cancer from coming back or pancreatic cancer from spreading?

Read the fascinating articles below to discover how trailblazing research like this is happening because of donors like you.

Your donation helps bring discoveries from lab to life

With donor support, CCS funds clinical trials across the country to test new ways to prevent, detect and treat cancer. These trials help advance research that can lead to better care and save lives.

Last year, CCS funded 119 clinical trials across Canada, with almost 4,000 people enrolled. To make sure that everyone can access information about clinical trials, CCS offers Cancer Trials Canada, the only national, bilingual website to provide clear, up-to-date information on cancer clinical trials in Canada – all in one place.

This infographic shows the number of cancer clinical trials funded by CCS across Canada, broken down by province. British Columbia: 75, Alberta: 50, Saskatchewan: 50, Manitoba: 32, Ontario: 103, Quebec: 77, Newfoundland and Labrador: 13, Prince Edward Island: 5, New Brunswick: 27, Nova Scotia: 27. Some clinical trials take place in multiple provinces.
