Hashimoto’s thyroiditis

An autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid and causes hypothyroidism (lowered thyroid function). Symptoms include fatigue, aches and pain, constipation, dry skin and depression.

Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is associated with an increased risk of developing thyroid cancer.

Also called Hashimoto’s disease or chronic thyroiditis.
