A surgical procedure to remove all of the organs from a body cavity.
For example, pelvic exenteration removes the lower colon, rectum and bladder. In women, the cervix (the lower, narrow part of the cervix, or womb), vagina (birth canal), ovaries and nearby lymph nodes are also removed.
