Webinar overview: Hormone therapy (also known as androgen deprivation therapy) is one of the most common treatments used for metastatic prostate cancer – but it may cause unwanted side effects. Dr Andrew Matthew, a psychologist and associate professor, discusses how you can manage these side effects and offers a helpful resource with more guidance on how to improve symptoms.

Presenter

Dr Matthew is a lead psychologist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. He is a clinician-investigator in the department of surgery, a member of the department of supportive care and co-lead of the Genito-Urinary Survivorship program. He is also an associate professor in the departments of surgery and psychiatry at the University of Toronto. Dr Matthew’s clinical care and research focus involves urologic cancers and includes prevention, treatment decision-making, sexual rehabilitation, survivorship and quality of life for people with cancer. Dr Matthew is also the director at Change Clinic, a psychology practice in downtown Toronto that provides assessment and treatment for people and families dealing with psychological issues arising from the diagnosis and treatment of serious illnesses.
