Webinar overview: This webinar describes what the prostate is and what it does. It describes prostate cancer risks as well as the signs and symptoms that may give a clue to abnormalities of prostate health, including cancer. The diagnostic tests that might be needed if cancer is suspected are described, as well as next steps after a diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Presenter

Dr Scott North is a graduate of the University of Ottawa medical school and received his training in internal medicine and medical oncology at the University of Alberta. He is keenly interested in medical education and pursued a Master of Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is the section chief of medical oncology at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton and the division director of medical oncology within the department of oncology at the University of Alberta. He serves on the executive board of the genitourinary site for the Canadian Cancer Trials Group and the Canadian Uro-Oncology Group. His clinical practice is exclusively in the area of genitourinary cancer.
