Results of the October 2011 Innovation grants competition

We are pleased to announce the results of the inaugural Innovation grants competition to support unique and creative research ideas that will impact cancer. Below is a listing of newly awarded Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) Innovation grants.

Out of a total of 121 grant applications, 23 Canadian Cancer Society Innovation grants have been approved. All grants have been awarded to a maximum budget of $200,000 within a maximum 3 year term. The 23 grants that are being offered in this competition amount to over $4.5 million in funding over the terms of these grants. This is greater than the 15-20 grants originally budgeted for this competition as a result of additional funds allocated to research from the Society’s divisions; this was made possible by the significant efforts of our volunteers and donors across the country. We are also very pleased that all grants are being funded to their full panel recommended amounts and that no administrative decrements are being applied.
